Spiders And Scorpions Of South Africa... Images For You To Enjoy!The term Arachnid defined by Odham's Dictionary Of The English Language means a spider, mite or scorpion with the plural being Arachnida. It is not easy to photograph Arachnids as they are not often seen, but I am sure you will enjoy these pictures! Spiders and Scorpions are heavily stereotyped as dangerous and tormenting creatures. This statement is far from true as Arachnids play an important role in our homes and the South African bush. They are very interesting small wonders of the world and will only attack or bite when they feel threatened or when they are provoked. You do not often encounter Arachnids because they are very wary animals and will make a run for it at the first sign of danger. I would like to give you a useful tip: When in the bush (Especially in arid areas) always check your shoes in the morning because Spiders and Scorpions often find refuge in peoples warm shoes.
