The Bushman's River Mouth is one of 2 closely situated rivers (The other being the Kariega) that surround the small coastal town of Kenton-on-sea which is located almost in between Port Elizabeth and East London in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The Bushman's River is a long wide river that can be fished for about 20 kilometers from the river mouth. And you still catch Kob, Grunter, Rays and even Ragged Tooth Sharks 20 kilometers from the mouth which is unbelievable. There's a lot of succulent vegetation that surrounds the river all the way to where it disappears... The Bushman's River Mouth is a great place to fish and there are so many different areas, where you can target all sorts of fish; edibles, flatfish and big sharks!

All sorts of fishing can be done here, Dropshot, lure, rock and surf, scratching and bait fishing. The Bushman's river system is so diverse and holds all sorts of fish species, not to mention a lot of other forms of life! It is worth your time to explore this majestic river, and make sure you bring a lot of bait and tackle and fish your way up and down the Bushman's River, believe me it's worth it! Fish Species Of The Bushman's River and River Mouth

The Bushman's River Mouth offers some great fishing and holds all sorts of fish species. Listed below are three categories of fish that are most commonly caught in the area:

The river mouth and surrounding pools are great places to fish especially on an incoming tide and the sandy beach is good for big Stumpnose and non-edibles. The Sandbar Floating Restaurant further down from the river mouth is a must fish zone, especially at night... Kob, Grunter and Rockcod will be caught here. In the actual river system there has been a few Kob that have been caught which weighed well over 40 kilograms so keep a look out for some of the many good Kob fishing areas to try catch one of these trophy sized fish!
