The Common Trees, Shrubs, Flowers And Grasses From The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

The Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, despite it's appearance, plays host to hundreds of species of plants and plant life (Flora). The plants vary from the annual blooming, superb looking species of flora like the Tsamma Melon, to the spectacular constant plant types like the Gemsbok Cucumber. More than twenty (20) years of research has been conducted in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and every season new flowering plants are still being discovered. When you drive around the park you have a chance to see 64 different types of flora that occur fairly commonly in the Kalahari Park. These 64 species of flora can be divided into different categories: Trees, Shrubs, Forbs and Grasses. Plant life is essential for living creatures. Food, shade, shelter and protection are what plants can be used for in the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park.
