What You Might See In The Kruger National Park; Near Satara And Skukuza

The Story Of My Trip To The Kruger National Park... My 1st Post!

The Kruger National Park... I get reminded of it's greatness every time I come hear. This tranquil untouched South African wilderness area is my favourite place to visit. This is the story of my July 2006 visit to the untamed Kruger National Park...

As my parents and I entered the Orpen gate on a warm Winter's day to do some research and to take photographs, I was filled with excitement and I couldn't wait to get started. Our 1st night's accommodation was in the main camp of the Kruger Park; Skukuza. On the way to Skukuza we were able to witness many signs of White Rhino and were fortunate to see the African Elephant and Cape Buffalo (Which we saw quite a lot on this journey). We got to Skukuza Rest Camp just before the African sun went down. When we arrived at our bungalow I saw the largest insect I had ever seen. There was a huge Stick Insect on our verandah! It was about 8 inches long, it was humungous! Click the image below for a better look. The rest of our stay in the Kruger National Park was at Satara, and these are some of the more special sightings of mammals, birds, reptiles and flora we were so fortunate to see.
