South African Birds Of Prey: The Falcon And The Kestrel

The Quick flying Falcon and Kestrel

There are many species of Falcons and Kestrels in South Africa and they all serve as an important part in the food chain. The Falcon and Kestrel raptor species are some of the quickest birds of prey species in South Africa, the Peregrine Falcon comes to mind! Because of the Falcon and Kestrels natural speed ability they use a lot of energy when they hunt so these small birds of prey need to pick their dinner carefully in order to save energy!
