The Larger Groundbirds (Gamebirds) Of The South African Bushveld
Groundbirds Of South Africa
There are a lot of birds that fit into this groundbird or gamebird category. These groundbirds of South Africa are some of the more pleasant birds to observe in their natural surroundings. Groundbirds have fascinating habits and it is amazing what birds like the Bustards and Spurfowls do. For example I was once in the Kruger National Park watching a male African Lion in the Satara area of the park, when all of a sudden a Kori Bustard came walking right past the Lions nose! The Kori Bustard survived this ordeal, somehow!
