The smaller Ungulates of South Africa include the Dassie, Bushpig, Warthog and Aardvark. An ungulate is an animal that has hooves and which belongs to the orders of Persissodactyla and Artiodactyla. South African smaller ungulates are hardy and tough mammals and don't ever give up in a fight! For example when you encounter a wounded Bushpig, you better find a good hiding spot because they are so dangerous and there have been incidents of Bushpigs wounding large predators like the African Lion and Leopard!
