South African Marine Mammal: The Whale. Whale Watching Too!

Whales Of South Africa

The most well known sea mammal (Marine mammal) in the coastal regions of South Africa is the Whale. There are over 20 species of regularly seen Whales in and around the waters of South Africa. Many of the Whale species that are known world wide occur around South Africa, including the 2 largest Whale species in South Africa. Whale watching is a well known hobby and it is practically like bird watching or game viewing. South Africa is a very good destination for Whale watching, although it is a in-season activity! Here is a species list of the 21 Whale species of South Africa... Whales are also part of the Addo Elephant National Parks Big Seven (7)!
